Ronald McDonald House Charities operate 14 houses attached to hospitals and in 2025 alone supported 8,488 family stays.
These houses allow families respite and a place to stay together when you have a child in hospital.
Often when specialist care is needed, hospitals can be far from home which could mean weeks or months away from home.
It’s a place to stay, to rest, to cook and store food, do laundry and just help you to feel a little more normal.
It’s completely free, and funded through the donations they receive, and I speak from personal experience that they are truly incredible spaces for parents who need some respite to keep going for their children.
