Because we can make a difference

Sustainability

Our commitment to sustainability

People-first, always. Practical about impact. Serious about doing better.

We believe sustainability starts with people. From the way we treat our team and community, to the decisions we make in our business, we want to contribute to a future that’s fair, inclusive, and responsible.

We're not a corporation. We're a small business doing real work, grounded in values. That means we approach sustainability with honesty — taking practical steps, asking tough questions, and refusing to tick boxes just for show.

What Sustainability Means to Us

We align our work with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and think in terms of three connected areas:

  • Environmental Sustainability – looking after the world we live in

  • Social Sustainability – supporting people’s wellbeing, rights, and potential

  • Economic Sustainability – creating lasting, ethical value for our clients, team, and community

Living Our Values

We collaborate with individuals and organisations that share our ethical principles. Upholding these values is crucial to our success. We are prepared to discontinue relationships that do not align with our standards.

We encourage our clients to reflect on their own values, vision, and mission, and to understand how the SDGs can guide their business strategies. Building a strong culture where everyone is valued and aligned with common goals is essential.

Our Achievements So Far

Social Sustainability

  • We pay above the living wage and provide flexible working as standard.

  • We support neurodivergent individuals, both through The NeuroDiverse City Hub and by embedding inclusive policies into our HR support for clients.

  • We’ve helped dozens of SMEs formalise fairer hiring, wellbeing policies, and safer workplaces — making workplaces genuinely better for people.

  • We actively support charities and community-led initiatives, particularly where they help families and people with barriers to work or support. In our year 2024 - 2025 we supported 6 organisations through donations, funding and volunteering.

Environmental Sustainability

  • We minimise travel, work digitally, and avoid printing unless absolutely necessary.

  • We use eco-conscious suppliers, as far as possible.

  • We actively educate clients on waste reduction, energy efficiency, and safe, sustainable operations through our safety training.

  • We’ve supported multiple SMEs to reduce their environmental risk and responsibilities with our Environmental Consulting and values built into our work.

  • We reduce food waste and plastic use in our home office environments — small habits, big difference.

Economic Sustainability

  • We provide affordable, scalable HR support for micro and small businesses, giving them access to legal, safe, values-driven policies without corporate costs.

  • We’ve supported businesses to reduce staff turnover, improve compliance, and avoid costly tribunal risks by setting things up right.

  • Through our partnership model, we’re building an ecosystem of trusted professionals that clients can access ethically and affordably.

  • The NeuroDiverse City Hub operates on a low-cost membership model that reinvests every penny into support services — funding real change, not profit.

Our Goals for the Future

We're proud of what we’ve done — but we’re always asking: what could we do better?

For the future, we aim to:

  • Invest in green hosting and sustainable tech for our online services

  • Launch a Supplier Code of Ethics, ensuring our spending supports our values

  • Extend our policy templates to include climate-conscious workplace practices and sustainable procurement

  • Source a wider range of sustainable suppliers, and refer these to our client base, creating more sustainable partnerships

  • Start to measure our digital footprint and look at where we can further reduce this

  • Continue to support local and national community organisations
