Because we can make a difference
Sustainability
We are all equal
We are not all the same
Our commitment to sustainability
We are a small business with a mission to help people, through support, through education, through thinking differently.
Everything starts with a simple concept.
We fully support the UN SDGs, and they are at the core of our vision, mission, and values.
Why?
Because we can make a difference everywhere
When?
Some of our goals are short term – focus on the quick wins, small effort, big impact.
Some are longer term, and some will be continuous.
All the SDGs are important to humanity, to the triple bottom line.
So, what do we do?
We work with people that align with our values. This is core to us. We have a strong ethical belief in these values, and we believe they are key to the success of people and business.
We are comfortable with terminating relationships that are not what they claim to be.
We encourage every business we work with to look at their values, their vision, their mission and to understand these SDG’s and how they can drive their business to align with them. How to think beyond the basics and really build a strong culture that ensures everyone is valued and everyone understands the common purpose and goals.
Some of they key things we do ourselves, and encourage in our clients:
· Pay above living wage as standard
· Provide sick pay and flexible options from day one as much as feasible
· Provide fresh food, snacks, cupboard essentials and free drinks to staff
· Provide space for fresh food storage
· Support open communication in times of hardship and truly be there, not generic support, specific individually tailored support
· Provide educational resources at all levels, things that help people professionally and personally like understanding financial management or supporting further education
· Support charity initiatives
· Partner with other key businesses to increase our reach and capability of support
· Ensure practice and education for reduced food waste, proper recycling, saving energy
· Supporting mental health, truly understanding the challenges of life, work-life balance and providing resources and support such as Mental Health First Aiders
· Support a culture of idea sharing, and not being afraid to ask questions, develop and grow confidence in the team. Empower them to grow in a nurturing environment
· Listen to the staff, the community and the wider community – fund change as much as possible
· Be clear and fair with employment practices and reduce inequality
· Make opportunities available to local people and support advanced education and training, make use of Government initiatives
· Treat everyone equally, with dignity, but do not treat everyone the same. They are not the same, they are individual. Recognise that.
· Get out in the community and clean it up!
· Understand the terms “greenwashing”, “carbon neutral” and don’t just plant trees. Have a real impact and make a real difference.
We continue to review our commitment to sustainability and grow outwards as our business grows. If you would like to partner with us to benefit at future for everyone, please get in touch.
